Simple Philosophy

Luis P. Oliveira's role as a trainer is to emphasize the simple philosophy in which student and athletes are set to achieve the higher goal of becoming better people, students and athletes based on the Brazilian mentality of playing soccer and team work concepts. Development – but always fun! Students must see victory as a by-product of the pursuit of excellence. They must focus on effort rather than outcome and on learning rather than comparison to others. They must recognize that mistakes are
an important and inevitable part of learning while not ignoring the teaching opportunities that mistakes present. Luis also encourages his students - whatever their level of ability - to strive to become the best players and people
they can be. He teaches that a winner is someone who makes maximum effort, continues to learn
and improve, and does not let mistakes (or fear of mistakes) stop them.

Education and Experience

Luis has over 20 years of experience in soccer and Futsal both within Brazil and the
United States. He is a member of several organizations, including the Brazilian Soccer and
Futsal Coaches Assoc., USSF, USFF, NSCAA, Positive Coaching Alliance and AAHPERD.
In addition, He played high-level Futsal and soccer in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil (IESA,
CR. Flamengo and Fluminense FC, 1981-1991) and is fluent in Portuguese, Spanish,
